William Reynolds Primary School and Nursery

On Monday 9^th January, a group of children from years 5 and 6 travelled to Birmingham Resorts World Arena to take part in this year’s Young Voices concert. Since September last year, the children have been working hard to learn a selection of songs and medleys to perform on the night with over 6000 other children from schools across the West Midlands. After arriving at the arena at 1pm, the children went straight into rehearsals with all the other schools, where they also had the opportunity to learn some beat boxing and street dance moves, which they thoroughly enjoyed. As the concert was about to start, the children were very excited to spot their friends and families arriving and we spent an exciting half an hour waving and giggling as we tried to get their attention. One of the highlights of the night was the children performing the song ‘Proud’ with the singer Heather Small, which will form part of a charity single that she is releasing. How exciting!

It was an amazing night, that all the children enjoyed, and an experience that they will remember for a long time!
